Dockages
During the winter months, when the ice on Conneaut Lake is thick enough to safely walk on, the wooden boat docks take a beating. As the ice freezes, it expands and puts pressure on the docks along the water's edge. Then when the ice starts to melt and break into pieces, the wind blows them to shore thus putting additional pressure on the dock structure.
Currently, we're in the process of reversing the damage and sustaining the docks for boaters. As you can see, we removed the ice damaged docks.

We have also begun rebuilding the support structure and walkways.
Upcoming Work:
With some rework and modifications, we will reuse 95% of the original dock planks and decking. We plan to install portable floating slips to enable removal of the majority of the structure after the season ends. At that time we'll be able to simply pull them out of the water, store them in a dry are, and then in the following spring next season place them back on the Lake.
Also in the works is a plan to incorporate ample space for jet ski docking. We understand this has been problematic in past seasons and we are working to reverse that as well.
Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more updates!
The docks look brand new again! Nice job.

I wanted to add a special 'THANK YOU" to my wonderful husband, Bo, who is pictured in his faithful backhoe tearing out the boardwalk and docks. He volunteered many hours of his time and equipment to help the park. We own The Palms but he still found time to help out "the neighbors"...
